With the introduction of a new Integrated Project Solutions division, Commtech Asia has now expanded its wide-ranging expertise to provide all-encompassing technical and commissioning management services to the highly complex world of integrated resorts.

Since commencing its Asian operations in 1992, Commtech Asia has come a long way establishing itself as a market leader providing specialist services to the construction industry which includes commissioning, retro commissioning and environmental commissioning management.

With the introduction of a new Integrated Project Solutions division, Commtech Asia has now expanded its wide-ranging expertise to provide all-encompassing technical commissioning services to the highly complex world of integrated casinos and resorts.

Inside Asia Gaming (IAG) recently published a feature profiling the vital role that Commtech Asia plays in the development of integrated resorts.

The required project focus can be better achieved, through an expert and holistic overview that identifies and addresses key pinch-points within the programme, developing intelligent solutions to mitigate potential delays.

In the piece, Bhupinder Parmar, division lead for Integrated Project Solutions, reveals that MEPF (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire) and ELV (Extra-low Voltage) systems often gets overlooked, with the traditional project management route that clients opt for.

“However, within IR projects, the reliance and importance of MEP and ELV integrity is significantly increased due to the nature of the business, which is fast-tracked,” Bhupinder adds.

Bhupinder also sheds light on the advantages of having an independent MEP project and construction management.

“The required project focus can be better achieved, through an expert and holistic overview that identifies and addresses key pinch-points within the programme, developing intelligent solutions to mitigate potential delays.”

For IR operators, key focus lies in how fast a scheme can open in order to generate revenue and disburse investment returns. Therefore, a phased opening requirement is often put in place to drive efficiency in the delivery process.

Bhupinder explains, “Having the experience and ability to understand how these phased opening requirements can influence other planning requirements is invaluable in being able to prioritize schedules of work.”

An example of a project with such requirement is a prestigious 543,000 sq ft world-class integrated resort with two five-star hotels comprising approximately 500 keys each with 993 suites in completion.

In 2015, Commtech Asia was appointed by Tiger Resort Leisure & Entertainment, Inc. to deliver a full spectrum of MEPF and ELV works for the remarkable development, which is located in the entertainment complex of Parañaque, Philippines.

The scheme stretches over two phases, with the first phase due to be completed this year, and have seen staggered opening of various public areas since 2017.
