Project summary
The project
Entrusted by GDS over years of business relationship, Commtech Asia was appointed to deliver full testing and commissioning management services for six GDS’s collocation data halls located in Shanghai and Beijing.
Commtech Asia was responsible for providing full commissioning consultancy services for the electrical, power quality management system (PQMS), mechanical, building management and fire systems involved in its Tier 3+ collocation datacentres.
The scope of works included detailed design review, datacentre commissioning planning and programming, preparation of commissioning method statements, and the management of site acceptance tests through heat load and integrated systems testing (IST).
Completed in three phases, the six data halls accommodate all required supporting mechanical, electrical and plumbing infrastructure to support the operation of the Tier 3+ datacentres.
Through the deployment of a sophisticated electronic commissioning management platform in the phase two and three projects, our team developed a thorough understanding of GDS’ datacentre design, providing a more comprehensive building performance solution for the project. We also paid special efforts during functional performance tests and ensured successful IST.
