Introduction

Commtech Asia delivered the commissioning management services for the development of a world-class resort in Macau, Wynn Palace. The project saw the new build construction of over 2,000 rooms, casinos, the signature SkyCabs, meeting facilities, spa and salon, luxury retail stores and international restaurants. The hotel’s gross floor area spans approximately 2,221,600 sq ft and took five years to be constructed, making it one of the most largest development project for Commtech Asia in the region.

The project

Commtech Asia was appointed as a testing and commissioning (T&C) consultant for the project, who was responsible to oversee the entire T&C processes and managing the handover of T&C document on behalf of the customer.

The scope included the review of the MEP scheme from schematic to detailed design, collation of the customer’s T&C requirements, review of the subsequent contractor’s submissions followed with supervision and reporting on the entire commissioning processes management.

Commtech Asia also helped with setting up of the HVAC systems and completed the set-up of the kitchens, ensuring that the facility is running on the correct supply and exhaust ratio with negative pressure indoors. Effective measures were adopted to ensure that the kitchen’s cooking fumes did not spread to guest and dining areas.

Entrusted by the customer, Commtech Asia took the lead to assure the entire T&C process and documentation go smoothly, resulting in highly functional and reliable operating systems within the resort.
