Introduction
Digital Realty’s Digital Osaka 1 datacentre is the brand’s first datacentre in Japan and is certified with Tier 3 design, offering a total IT capacity of 7.6MW with diversified power, cooling, security and connectivity options. The 80,000 sq ft facility provides tenants with multi-rack, cage, private suites configurations ranging from 2kW to over 2,400kW, onsite office space and also a 400kW colocation data hall which spans 4,300 sq ft.
Located 20km from Osaka’s city centre and 200m above sea level, the datacentre was designed to withstand a level three earthquake and associated tsunami, providing the best protection to its facilities and tenants. Japan’s climatic conditions were taken into account for optimising the facility’s features, with particular focus on flexibility, reliability and energy efficiency.
